The Technology Management Program is pleased to announce the kick off of UC Santa Barbara's 14th Annual New Venture Competition with the Mentor Orientation on Tuesday, November 6th, 2012 in the Engineering Science Building room 1001 from 6:30-7:30 PM.
UC Santa Barbara's 14th Annual New Venture Competition provides a hands-on opportunity for campus innovators to learn about successful venture creation, beginning with the evaluation of new business opportunities, working with potential clients/customers for market validation, crafting a concise oral pitch, drafting a compelling executive summary and financial projections, and learning how to raise necessary capital for launch.
During the Mentor Orientation we will discuss the competition time-line, expectations/roles of the mentors, advisors, & other community participants, the new competition management program we will be using called iStart, and the general rules and guidelines for the competition.
Attendees may park in lot 10 on the top floor and will need to purchase a parking permit from the dispenser for $4. Please note that the dispensers only take cash and do not give change so exact change is recommended. Please click here for a link to the campus map.
